Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Thanks to Dione and Debbie for decorating the Christmas tree and the Post lounge for the holidays. It sure looks great!

The Post Lounge is open Monday through Friday at 4:00pm. It will be closed Wednesday, January 1st.

The Vikings look like they are going to the playoffs this year! The Post will be open on Sunday, December 29th at 11:00am to host a potluck lunch and watch the Vikings vs. Packers game.

Friday, December 13th we held a Bean Bag Toss Tournament at the Post. Fun, fellowship, and healthy competition were enjoyed by all who attended. We plan to continue this event throughout January on Friday nights at 6:30pm.

Pancake breakfasts for 2025 will continue to be on the fourth Sunday of the month. In addition, Post 435 Auxiliary will have their omelet breakfasts on the second Sunday of the month. Thank you to all the volunteers who have given their time and energy to help make these events a success.

Check the Post Calendar for dates and times for events happening over the next three months.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year,

Commander George Hawkins
GO VIKES!

Auxiliary President

Greetings everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful holiday season!

On November 15, 2024 the Auxiliary assisted passing out apples to teachers during Education Week at a few local schools including St Helena’s, Northrup, and Wenonah. It was a fun time, and some volunteers even ran into teachers they knew from their time in elementary school! It was a fun way to honor and show appreciation to our neighborhood educators.

We collected food for the local food shelf and received so many donations that will go to families in need this holiday season. Thank you to everyone for your donations!

Finally, please remember to renew your membership by paying your 2025 membership dues!

Have a Very Happy Holiday and New Year!

Auxiliary President Pam Thompson

SAL Commander

The holiday season is upon us. Pancake breakfasts have wrapped up for the year. Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers for making them a success. Post 99 now has its own website! It is still “under construction” but keep checking back as we get it up and running. Post 99 is also joining the Nokomis East Business Association. Hopefully these steps will help get our mission out to the neighborhood and beyond.

Happy Holidays! Thank you, veterans!

SAL Commander Bill Hawkins

Post 99 Vice-commander note

As Legionnaires our most sacred responsibility is to look out for each other and our fellow veterans. Your membership dues support active-duty military personnel and all veterans! Our Veteran and military community in Minneapolis need you and your support. Our voice needs to remain strong. With this said, please take the time to renew your membership.

Thank you,
Vice-commander Roger Fahrenkrug

Chaplains Corner

Hi everyone. I decided with the new year to be a better person. A book called 12 Seeds for Successful Relationships, written by Norm Andersen, will really help. Biblically based principles for life! Respect, encouragement, listening, appreciation, trust, integrity, order, nurture, synergy, hope, ideals, pardon.

I pray for good health for all and that the sick will be healed, and you will prosper. I pray for the government, armed forces, veterans, and police that there will be peace and sanity for all. The Bible says to love God with all your heart, body, soul, and spirit, and your neighbors as yourself.

Yours in Christ,
Chaplain Ron Bredesen
